As a charter school, GreenTree Preparatory Academy has a Governance Board to enable families, staff, students, and the community to work to support and inform shared leadership, equity, and cultural relevance resulting in increased student achievement. The Board assists in the development and implementation of the school’s educational plans and focuses on academic achievement; student, family, and community engagement; effective and efficient operations; and school culture. The Board serves as an advisory group that is representative of the school community to ensure a collective vision for the school and for strategies to support student achievement and school improvement. Specifically, the Board:
- discusses and reviews the success of school improvement strategies;
- provides voice for families, community, students, and staff on major school decisions;
- discusses the use of resources and budget priorities resulting in the submission of a Governance Board Signature Page with the final school budget; and
- works with the school leader to develop, conduct, and report the results of annual survey of parents, guardians, and teachers on issues related to school climate, culture, and conditions.
